Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment Value:
American Content Liquidator's appraisals
require the study of all value influences. Change and
anticipation are fundamental in this study. They characterize
human collective action and value judgments, and appraisers
study them by analyzing appraisal principles and related
concepts, forces that influence value, and factors that create
value.
The appraisal principles - supply and
demand, substitution, balance and externalities - help to
explain shifts in value. In turn, trends in anticipation and
change, which are revealed by an analysis of the principles, can
be studied through the analysis of four forces - social,
economic, governmental and environmental - that influence people
and value. This analysis provides a more detailed understanding
of the causes of value trends and also aids in forecasting their
strengths and durations. An appraiser can then study
characteristics of specific equipment and people who constitute
a market for them in terms of four factors - utility, scarcity,
desire and effective purchasing power - that create value in a
particular item or collection of items. |
